Saw Dogs - Clips from Episode 4 - Vancouver Whale Watch Commision 2012

Saw Dogs - First Breath

Saw Dogs
Eat. Sleep. Carve. It’s what we do.

A team of the world’s top chainsaw sculptors battle short deadlines, tight budgets and conflicting artistic sensibilities to complete a series of beautiful commissioned carvings. Master carver Steve Blanchard pulls from a pool of the best carvers around, matching their special skills to each over-the-top project, to craft some of the most intricate woodcarvings imaginable.

Season 1, Episode Four "First Breath"
(First Aired: January 14, 2012 on Discovery)

Commissioned by Vancouver Whale Watch in the historic fishing village of Steveston BC, Steve designs an evocative sculpture of a mother whale bringing its baby to the surface above a nest of roots. Guest carvers Jeff Samudosky and Mark Colp work on the project.

Special thanks to Director Greg Donis for providing us with the video.
